Summary of discussion points from the committee meeting on the 13th September 2017

Membership – There are a number of members planning to play this year who have not yet paid their membership which was due last week. The committee to ask Captains to follow up with players in their teams

Captains - Still under discussion with 3s – 7s to hopefully be agreed at the intra-club tournament at the weekend. Once captains have been confirmed a review of the club equipment to take place to see if we any new equipment is required.

Squads - The first team squad is now in place with the second team squad to be agreed before the first league game on the 23rd September. This allows time for the other teams to confirm their squads ahead of the Warwickshire league starting on the 30th September.

Club ethos - As a club this season we want to make sure we are supporting junior progression through the club, not at all costs but recognising the need to give juniors time to develop & grow when moving them up into a new team.

Welfare - The new welfare posters with contacts are on the website and will be put up in the club house. Karen will work with the captains and coaches to complete the required safeguarding courses and DBS checks once we have all the appointments confirmed.

Training - For training on the 5th December & 10th January we will move indoors at Vesey to prevent the likelihood of it being called off due to bad weather. Decided not to pursue friendlies on the 6th January as think this will be a struggle for availability. Training slot to be reduced on the 28th November as the 1s & 2s league has already finished. No venue yet confirmed for Indoor squad training. Committee to follow up with members of the 1st team to understand what options have been reviewed and what actions are required.

Pre-season – Good feedback on the fitness & pitch sessions that took place this year. There was some confusion over the cost of the pre-season pitch sessions. Action for the committee to ensure costs are aligned up front with coaches and players before any training sessions take place.

Joint club - The constitution is under review & nearly finalised with a meeting to hopefully confirm outstanding points w/c 18th September. There will be a joint club AGM in October.

Sponsorship – the team have created a pack to share with potential sponsors. The design is in the process of being finalised and will be communicated out to all club members soon. We have secured £400 of banner sponsorship with Dave’s help and he is helping with the printing and hanging on match days. The first team are again going after individual sponsorship deals for £100 each which was very successful last year.

Socials - Information has gone out over social media for the team challenge social on the 7th October. Reviewing options for the ladies dinner on the 17th March. Some additional support required for the ball this year, anyone who is interested to let Sam Phipps know.

Kit - Given the lack of availability in Sportology of kit this year the committee have agree to keep with the current kit provider for an additional year. Becky will understand from Paul what this means with regards to availability of kit for the current season taking minimum order quantities into account.

Umpires - There is a requirement for umpires for the 3s – 7s games. Captains to ask for people in the teams who are willing to umpire 1 or 2 games, please let a captain or a member of the committee know if you would be interested.

Please let a member of the committee aware if you have any questions.
