We are very pleased to announce that we have a new columnist for the new website and he or she is going to give us a view of hockey from a different perspective. Allow us to introduce you to The SCHC Secret Umpire.

Umpires are the unsung heroes of hockey as without them, there would be no game. How many of the membership really know the rules? How many of us know some of the rules yet are quick to judge umpiring decisions? The SCHC Secret Umpire is here to help.

Perhaps this column will help us see our sport from the viewpoint of those that police it. Or perhaps the column will just give us a light-hearted look on the week's games in a irreverent manner. You'll just have to keep checking back on the column to see which way it's going to go.
