Sutton fail to finish of Cov & NW

Sutton Coldfield dominated play from the outset with some good, fluid passing hockey. Cov&NW also looked threatening on the counter attack. Sutton Coldfield had numerous chances to score in open play and with many short corners. Eventually Sam Hardman found the back of the goal and Sutton went 1-0 up. In the second half Sutton Coldfield still dominated the play and chances kept coming. Cov&NW defended well and in particular the Cov&NW goal keeper made some superb saves. Sutton couldn't quite manage to get the crucial next goal. In the dying minutes of the game Sutton went down to 10 men and all of a sudden ended up with defending to do. A free hit was conceded just outside the "D" and the resulting crash ball was deflected in, much to the dismay of Sutton Coldfield and elation of the opposition. This was a game that Sutton should have won and they will have to improve their finishing if they are to get back to winning ways.
