Worcester hit for six
By Ian Harding
Last week wasn’t a flash in the pan!
A purple patch of twenty minutes in the first half saw Sutton score four times and effectively end the fixture as a contest. Clinical goals from the front pair of Steve Potter
and returning skipper Ian Harding
in quick succession set the tone which was followed by a Olly Gray-Nimo near post strike and Ben Dunnington
penalty corner in a period of play where Worcester simply couldn't cope.
The second half Worcester attempted to rally but it was Sutton who added more goals with twenty minutes left on the clock. Good approach work by Sutton was eventually rewarded as Potter combined with Harding, allowing the skipper a close range finish for his second.
The goal of the game however was scored by the excellent Dan George who rounded off an excellent counter-attack. Sutton, doing what they had done for most of the game, forced the error in the Worcester passing game. Great composure from Matthew Hubbold created the space for his own spearing line pass to Gray-Nimo who neatly turned his man and fed the advancing George. It wasn't straight forwards by any stretch of the imagination as there was a defender and goal keeper for company but the ball was forced home to great cheers!
