Copper Box here we come!

After two thrilling weekends of indoor hockey, the Mighty Pinks finished 3rd in the Jaffa Super 6s Championships Premier Division. They will now face Bowdon Hightown in the semi-finals of the Jaffa Super 6s Super Sunday on 2nd February at the Copper Box Arena in London. Massive congratulations to coach Mappy and all of the indoor squad for such a fantastic achievement!

Having just gained promotion back up to the Prem, Sutton stunned their opposition with 5 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. They won both their games on Saturday, with strong performances against Holcombe, where they maintained the upper hand throughout and controlled the game. It was a close encounter with Leicester, with a 39th minute winner from captain Woolford's unstoppable penalty corner (also earning her a hat-trick).

The games on Sunday were against the other teams at the top of the table, however Sutton knew they were through to the Copper Box already and were playing for finishing positions in the table. Tough opposition, along with some help from the umpires!, lead to two defeats against East Grinstead (EG) and Hightown. However Sutton are going into the semi-finals with great confidence!

Results over both weekends:
Sutton 2 - 1 Slough (E.Peers, B Peers)
Clifton 4 - 5 Sutton (Mccabe, Florida-James (2), B.Peers, Sixsmith)
Buckingham 2 - 2 Sutton (Florida-James, B. Peers)
Sutton 4 - 3 Surbiton (Woolford, Groves, Mccabe, B. Peers)

Sutton 4 - 2 Holcombe (Mccabe, B. Peers (2), Sixsmith)
Leicester 2 - 3 Sutton (Woolford hat-trick)
EG 8 - 1 (Mccabe)
Sutton 0 - 4 Hightown

Sutton face Bowdon Hightown in the second of the semi finals at 11.45am, with EG and Buckingham facing each other at 10.30am. The ladies final is at 3.30pm, followed by the men's final. Full details on the EH website .

As in previous years, we are organising a group booking for tickets. It would be brilliant to have as much pink support as possible to cheer our girls on. Full details about tickets will be coming out this week, stay tuned!
