M3 played North Stafford M2 on what was a very wet and cold November afternoon.
However, M3 did not look put off by the conditions and stormed into an early lead on 5 minutes. A cracking through ball from the back by Steve Trivett picked out Spencer Gray-Nimmo in attack, he combined nicely with Harvey Kang who slotted home, 1-nil.
That lead soon doubled when Spencer retained possession in the D and his bobbled shot somehow crept into the far post (the keeper was mortified), 2-nil.
Sutton took complete control of the game in the first hald when Steve Trivett smacked a short corner in from a straight strike, 3-nil.
The second half was a more cagey affair, although M3 continued to control the game and restricted the visitors to very occasional forays into the home 25. The highlight of the second half was a superb move started in his own half and very nearly finished by man-of-the match Jo Hughes, he just couldn’t find the clean strike to get the goal he deserved.
North Stafford did get a goal from a short corner, but it was very much a consolation. M3 now look forward to two away fixture next weekend, Finchfield M2 on Saturday and a rearrangement on Sunday away at Telford & Wrekin M2.
