A win and a loss on day 3 of the Masters European Cup

O35s defeat Netherlands

Undaunted by the heatwave engulfing Europe at the moment, our Mighty Pinks kept flying the flag for England at the Masters European Cup in Rotterdam.

Vicky Woolford featured for the O35s in their 2-1 win over The Netherlands. England were 2-0 up with 7 minutes to play, but a Dutch goal on 56 minutes made for a tense finale.

The O35s are level on 6 points with Spain at the top of their group, both having won their first two matches. They play each other tomorrow.

Charlotte Cross-Fellows, playing for England O45s against Germany saw the first loss for England’s women of the championship in 2-1 result. Germany took the lead on 48 minutes, England equalised a minute later but Germany took the 3 points with a winner 5 minutes from time.

The O45s finished runners up in their pool and face Netherlands in the semi final on Friday.

The O40s, featuring Helen Durrans on the pitch and Sarah Cross-Fellows in the coaching team, won their group and are now in a round robin with fellow group winners Germany and Netherlands who they play this afternoon.
