The event was superbly compered by Olympic Badminton Silver Medalist Gail Emms, who inspired us with her stories of elite sporting success and what it takes, as well as making us laugh with tales of her competitive mum. Earlier in the day Gail also rolled back the years to when she played hockey at school by picking up a stick and playing in our fun mixed tournament. Thank you to Gail from the whole club.

A sell out crowd celebrated the successes of teams and players throughout the club, highlights being the Ladies 2XI who secured promotion back to the Midlands Premier Division with a play-off victory Ladies indoor team who won promotion back to the Super 6s Premier Division and Ladies O45s who won the Tier 1 Masters Championship.

Special mention must also go to Archie and Billy Sansome who won the Men’s Young Player and Most Improved Young Player awards respectively. A fantastic achievement and it was great to have the two brothers playing in the 1XI.

Well done to every winner of an award, all thoroughly deserved.

Thanks also to those who generously donated raffle prizes helped us raise money for Better Pathways, a mental health charity doing amazing work in the West Midlands.

Finally we thank the Ball Committee (see cover photo), without whose hard work this hockey celebration would not happen. We are already looking forward to the 15th edition.
