Another outing at Wyndley for the mighty pinks, but what did the witches cauldron have brewing for this installment.

Fairbrother returned with a fun fact this week, apologising first for the emotional stress caused by its omission last week, something to do with a baby shark dispute. When was Christmas banned? Bonus points for how long for.

Not much happened pregame for once so we’re diving straight into the twilight zone…

The mighty pinks started off menacingly with a quick transfer up the pitch leading to an early cross goal hit from Mez. If this was a sign of things to come, we were in for a treat. Turns out Gloucester had more tricks on their mind.

Sutton continued with the high pressure and pace, picking up a few penalty corners, but no goals.

Nicky and Mollie dominated the right hand side in the early stages, with Moore controlling the centre as always. Gloucester held firm though, monster mashing out any glimpse of a chance.

It took until well into the first quarter for Gloucester to have a chance summoning a stellar Susan jump scare, sorry jump back, tackle. But not much long after, a Gloucester player haunted the circle pouncing onto a fired strike deflecting into the Sutton net. 1-0 away team at quarter time.

Second quarter start and Sutton had their mojo back, not to be confused with a mojo dojo casa house, this is their Barbie dreamhouse after all. Florence gave the Gloucester left back nightmares hunting her down to win foul after foul. One of these lead to some gharishly good link up play that ended as Mez twist the goalkeeper inside out and BP flicked over the line. 1-1.

Safe to say this was looking like a Thriller.

The score remained 1-1 at halftime as despite more creeping up the pitch from Sutton, Gloucester stayed vigilant in the face of goal threats.
A rousing teamtalk from Andy got the girls ready and raring to go for the second half, this was no costume party remember.

Sutton applied even more pressure from the off. McCabe weaved her way through defenders to link in with Freya and then BP, winning a corner inside 30seconds. Gloucester were seemingly dead and buried.

No conversion again for the PC and that seemed to be the case all game. Sutton kept the pressure on but couldn’t score. Even with Freya and BP linking up for what would’ve been a ghoul-tastic goal, truly a profiterole moment. Cries of 'Get it together' from the crowd still didn't bring anymore goals.

Gloucester’s only really chance came late into the second half. A counter saw Sutton’s defence shaking off some cobwebs from being underworked. However, Gloucester’s chance decayed before their very eyes as their player attacked Manning, earning a yellow card and a strong talking to. Manning was understandably traumatised, she normally falls over on her own accord so diving to the ground was paranormal activity for her.

More chances came Sutton’s way, especially when a penalty stroke was awarded. McCabe felled by the keeper who came at her like the Grim Reaper. But over turned for Emma’s backing in… a frightful decision. Flappy Freya returned to pick up a green card, but that was that.

As the final whistle rang out the came ended with the points shared.

POM went to BM for her fantastic middle pitch disruption. DOD went to Florence, for a number of reasons, we’re lucky she’s such a class clown (not a spooky one). The answer to Fairbrother’s fun fact was 1647, and the ban lasted 13 years.

The might pinks have a week off to rest and recover now before heading up north to Wakefield on 4th November.
