The first home game in a while , we were ready for our battle against promotion chasing leamington.

We adapted an attacking structure on pitch at the start of the first half. After some quality play, an opportunity arose for the 6’s to test out the short corners that we had practice so much in training .Many huddles were made and the general plan was for Cath to pass the ball to the right slip, our short corners were so much better than in previous games however none resulted in a goal. After many missed attempts of short corners we decided we needed a powerful shot, so we brought in Kim as the receiver, the ball was slapped straight into the goal however a small deflection by the goalie meant we were still 2 goals down.

Remaining in our usual high spirits, the 6’s returned to the second half with an additional defender , ramping up the defence against leamington. As the weather began to brighten up slightly, so did our performance; the play was seemingly professional and extremely fas. Shortly after the 2nd half had started, Mia Cooper tore down the left wing of the pitch at great speeds all the way to the top of the D where she slipped it to Lucy Dixon who made an impressive shot to goal, which meant we were currently at 2-1.

After what it seemed like years of ferociously battling for the ball, the match drew to a close. Despite our 3-1 loss, we remained in high spirits, at the end of the game we were all exhausted! Lucy Dixon was deservingly given the star player because of her great goal and her consistency with the ball. Thanks to her generosity the 6’s enjoyed tucking into some delicious chocolate, the chocolate disappeared as quickly as any sadness or regrets from the match did... ready and reading to play Olton next weekend.
