Saturday 26th October saw 12 of the Ladies 6s brave the rain to battle it out against Old Silhillians 2nd. A battle that was always going to be a tough one considering their league position of 3rd.

Some great work in the first half meant that Sutton had only conceded one goal, but in the final 5 minutes of the first half, 3 goals were scored against the hosts, all by the same Silhillians player. Some unlucky defending and goalkeeping (megs) left Sutton 4-0 down at half time.

After a team talk from Janet, the second half commenced and Sutton looked much stronger. Some great work moving the ball up the pitch but the opposition were just as strong, not letting a single ball be played through them. 2 more goals were conceded, leaving the final score 6-0 to Old Sils.

The score definitely didn’t reflect the effort and performance from the ladies, but onto next week!

Votes for girl of the game went to Hayley (1), Harriet (2), Jess (2), Anna (2)...but this weeks well deserved girl of the game was Georgie. Georgie played as centre back, moving up to centre midfield - was great to see her confidence improving and some great play breaking up their attack.
