Today Sutton's U10 boys took part in the Burton tournament and did themselves and the club proud. The first game was hard fought against a much bigger, and faster, Beeston team. With some great interchanges the Sutton team worked hard to push for a goal and held great shape for much of the game. A few changes disrupted this shape and allowed Beeston to sneak a couple of goals in the closing few moments but the team understood what they needed to do to stop other goals.

They executed this fantastically well against Burton in the second game and but for some technical issues with short corners would have converted at least once at the other end. This highlighted the need to actually practice these and we will work on that over the coming weeks. Other opportunities flew agonisingly wide and the game ended 0-0 which wasn't really a fair reflection of the pressure exerted.

The final game saw another 0-0 against Belper with the same defensive structure tested a little more in this game but some equally good counter play from Sutton. A fine save by the Belper goal keeper denied one chance and a few others went close.
