Initial fears and doubt turn into 7 game unbeaten streak. 4th XI captain Lee Medlicott sums up the season.

Another season in the Midlands Premier Sutton 4XI knew it would be hard to maintain their league status. After an opening day loss they then went on a 7 game unbeaten streak! This included a highlight of beating Cannock 4XI and 5XI on their home turf!

As the Xmas break came Sutton were sat 2nd in a very tight league with only 6 points being the difference of staying up and being relegated. The second part of the season saw Sutton’s success continue picking up points at home and away. Safety was secured 4 games to go with an 11-3 mauling of Cannock 5’s and thus relegating them.

Sutton finished a very respectable 5th with an impressive 35 points. Next season will be difficult with B’ham Uni and Loughborough Uni sides joining the league!

During the season the 4XI has pushed through the youth players to build for the future for the club whilst supporting a core backbone of players. Passing hockey and unselfishness saw an impressive 79 goals scored and Harding bagging 28 of those in one of the toughest league divisions.

After 3 seasons captaining the 4XI Lee Medlicott is stepping down so hands on the baton to another to continue to good work of staying in this division.
