What a team! What a Season! A few occasions of "Lastminuteitus" but all was right in the end. 3rd XI Captain Sam Simms sums up the season.

After 2 brilliant seasons of only 2 defeats, the 3rd team found themselves at the dizzy heights of Midlands Feeder West. With unknown teams and far away pitches, only one of them in Warwick, the 3rd team set about cementing their place in their new division.

Plenty of new faces featured and I can honestly say I don't think I had the same team for any 2 weeks, let alone consecutive ones. But nonetheless, the team battled and battled, until safety was assured.

The first half of the season saw us throw away a few points with
"lastfiveminuteitus" but once Mark Wootton took over on a Saturday, we went from strength to strength.

Two vital wins against 2nd and 3rd Warwick and Telford before the Christmas break meant we were ready in February and got some more great wins. Additional relegation meant that the point against Old Sils, 2-0 win against Hampton, 6-3 win at Edgbaston and 1-0 win against Bridgnorth was still not enough to ensure safety, meaning it was 2 games to go and 2 wins required to keep our fate in our own hands.

Both games were away, and both against teams near the top of the table. But with true grit and determination the team put in some great performances and sealed the survival with 4 minutes to go for the season!

A truly brilliant team this season, with unbelievable morale and I could not have asked for more in my first year as captain, well maybe a ban on holidays during the season for 2014-15 OK ladies??
