Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club Junior Section Awards Night

On Friday night, we gathered together to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our talented young players at our Junior Section Awards Night. It was an evening filled with excitement, pride, and well-deserved recognition for our incredible junior teams. Here are some outstanding accomplishments from this past season:

- Our longest and busiest season to date, with more matches played than ever before! The dedication and commitment of our players were truly commendable.

- We made significant progress towards the club's Talent Centre accreditation.

- The expansion of our U8 match program has been a tremendous success, with improvements and development shown by our youngest players.

- The U10 boys and girls made it to the Midlands finals, demonstrating their skills and determination on the pitch.

- Our U12 boys squad experienced remarkable growth, showcasing their potential for the future.

- The U12 girls competed in Tier 1 for the first time, demonstrating their strength and determination in challenging competitions.

- The U14 boys had two teams participating in Tiers 1 and 2, achieving great success and impressive player development.

- The U14 girls had a highly successful season in T2 and operated two teams in T2 and T3.

- Our U16 boys claimed victory at the Tier 2 Midlands Indoor Championship, showcasing their exceptional skills.

- The U16 girls won the East Supra League and finished an impressive 6th in the T1 National Championships, proving their talent and resilience.

- Our U18 boys triumphed in the EH Tier 1 Championships Plate, highlighting their hard work and determination.

- An incredible achievement with 20 boys and girls selected for Talent Academies, demonstrating the depth of talent within our club.

- Additionally, 28 players represented Warwickshire, Staffordshire, and Shropshire County teams, showcasing their skills on a larger stage.

- Elliot Winterbottom, one of our leading young umpires, took control of the Girls National State school final, showcasing his talent and dedication.

- Our Junior Goalkeeper program saw significant growth, with eight new U10/12/14 keepers taking up the role, ensuring the future of our goalkeeping position is in safe hands.

- The midweek academy expanded to include U8's, providing even more opportunities for our young players to develop their skills and love for the game.

- A special mention goes to Rohit Jakhu for representing England U18 boys and winning the National Hockey Writers U16 Player of the Year award. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!

We are incredibly proud of all our junior players for their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship throughout the season. Their achievements are a testament to their talent and the excellent coaching and support they receive from our amazing team of coaches and volunteers and not to forget the incredible support from all our parents.

Congratulations to all the award winners and to every player who contributed to the success of the Junior Section this past season. We look forward to more incredible achievements in the forthcoming season.
