Communications

• We are looking to set up a system for members to share feedback on an ongoing basis - communicating achievements; passing on thanks; raising issues; making suggestions etc. Further details to follow.

Welfare

• A number of policies are being updated on the club website with links to England Hockey guidance included.
• SCHC’s Code of Conduct is being amended to clarify the expectations for both members and others associated with the club. A separate Disciplinary Procedures document is also being produced.

Junior Section

• Congratulations to the U10 and U12 Boys and Girls who all finished in the top 8 in their respective Midlands Finals in April. Thank you to all the coaches, umpires and parents for your support throughout the season.
• Well done also to our U18 Girls who were runners up in the national plate final, losing narrowly to Teddington.
• The Junior End of Season Celebration will take place on Sunday 18th May at the clubhouse, 12:30-2:00 pm for U8/10/12 and 2:30-4:00 pm for U14/16s. Food from 12pm.

Senior Section

• Congratulations to the M3s, M5s and W3s on achieving promotion this season. Unfortunately, the W1s and M4s were relegated after promotion the previous season. W5s wait to find out if they have avoided relegation.
• Thank you to this season’s captains and to everyone who officiated games - your input is hugely appreciated
• Summer League: 3 women's and 3 men's teams entered. Thank you to those captaining the teams.
• WO35 and WO45 teams through to the EH Cup Finals on Saturday 3rd May at Lee Valley Stadium [Post meeting Update - Both teams won their matches and are national champions!]

Flyerz

• Thank you to everyone supporting Flyerz hockey. Sessions will be outdoors at Vesey over the summer.

Finance & Subscriptions

• The proposed subscription rates for the 2025/26 season will be shared at the AGM on Monday 30th June.

Socials

• Successful Men's and Women’s end of Season Dinners were held at the clubhouse in March / April.
• We look forward to seeing you all at SCHC’s Annual Ball on Saturday 10th May at Aston Wood Golf Club. This year we are supporting Birmingham PHAB camps.
• Well done to all those appearing in the SCHC Fantasy Team of the Season. Thank you to Dan Branch; Matt Florida-James & Rich Lee for their work with Fantasy Hockey this year.

The Clubhouse

• We are pleased to share that a number of grants have been awarded to support the refurbishment of the clubhouse. Thank you to Peter Westbrook for all his work in preparing and submitting the bids.
• Please contact Mat Scott (MAB) if you are interested in a private hire or booking the clubhouse for an event.

Talent Academy

• It has been confirmed that SCHC will host the Talent Academy for four years (up to 2027/28 season). Thank you to Steve Russell for his ongoing work as TA Director and all those supporting the running of the TA.
• Preparations are underway for the TA Cup which will be held at the University of Nottingham, 25-27 July.

AOB

• SCHC’s AGM will be held on Monday 30th June at the clubhouse. All members are invited to attend.
• Thanks to Paul Eadon and Matt Jones for repairing the lockup at Wyndley and providing shelving at Vesey.
• Community Games take place on 13th & 14th July at Wyndley. Please volunteer to help if you are free.
• Congratulations to Jess & Becky Batsford-Webb on the safe arrival of a future mini-mighty-pink Phoebe.
