Welfare

• A reminder to players, coaches and supporters that all welfare information is on our club website, in particular the club code of conduct and England Hockey’s ‘Spirit of Hockey’ https://www.suttoncoldfieldhc.co.uk/a/welfare-and-safeguarding-62883.html.
• The club is looking to run a First Aid course and details will be shared with members once dates are confirmed.

Junior Section

• Training for the second half of the season will run from 11 January - 26 April.
• U16s and U18s entered the Midlands indoor hockey competitions. Congratulations to our U18 girls who were silver medal winners - narrowly missing out on qualifying for the national finals. With the U16s girls competition cancelled due to low entries, SCHC entered two mixed teams into the boys tournament and competed well. Well done to all players involved and thank you to the coaches who supported the teams to experience indoor hockey.
• SCHC’s Talent Centre Developer from England Hockey is attending Junior Training on 11th January to look at junior coaching sessions and chat to coaches / parents.

Senior Section

• Congratulations to Enya Collier who has been selected for the Ireland Indoor team and to Mollie Beeton, selected for England U18s.
• Women’s Mid-Season league standings:-
• 1s - Nat Div1N 3rd (16 pts), 2s - Mids Prem 12th (9 pts), 3s - Div 1 10th (9 pts), 4s - Div 3SW 9th (10 pts), 5s - Div 4NC 7th (12 pts), 6s - Div 5NC 2nd (19 pts) , 7s - Div 5NC 6th (10 pts).
• Men’s Mid-Season league standings:-
• 1s - Div1 4th (17 pts), 2s - Div4W 3rd (24 pts), 3s - Div5W 4th (18 pts), 4s - Div7NW 7th (15 pts),
• 5s - Div7NW 12th (6 pts), 6s - Div8NW 10th (9 pts), 7s - Div9NW 8th (13 pts), 8s - Div10C 5th (3 pts), 9s - Div10C
• Midlands Indoor Tournaments: SCHC entered a Men’s team and Women’s 2nd Team in the indoor tournaments in December. Both teams won two of their three matches and finished 2nd in their respective groups.
• Good luck to the Women’s Indoor team starting their Super Sixes campaign this weekend at Repton.

Flyerz

• SCHC is looking into alternative timings and venues for sessions to continue developing Flyerz hockey at Sutton.

• Upcoming socials: The Volunteers Meal will now take place on Monday 9th February (original date 19 January). Saturday 21 February - Bingo and Tapas social.
• Thank you to those who organised and to everyone who attended the Christmas social - a great success.
• The SCCHC AGM is on Monday 26th January at 7:30pm at the clubhouse. Members of both Sutton Cricket and Hockey clubs are invited to attend.

Talent Academy

• Sutton TA Boys and Girls squads competed in the Midlands Hub Day with other Midlands TAs in December.

• Umpiring: The club is looking to run another umpires information evening this season.
