Places funded for club volunteers

As a club, we are looking to increase the number of assistant coaches to support with the running of coaching sessions to ensure we can offer a high-quality experience of hockey.

The junior section has therefore organised an England Hockey Introduction to Hockey course which will take place on Sunday 7th July @ Wyndley Leisure Centre from 10-4pm. The Introduction to Hockey Coaching workshop has been developed for potential coaches with limited experience of hockey coaching. It is suitable for those wishing to become an assistant coach, parent helpers, school teachers, young leaders and coaches with backgrounds in other sports. The minimum age to attend is 16 years of age.

Prior to attending this course, there is a requirement to complete an online safeguarding workshop at a cost of £10.

Should you like a place, please register here. The junior club will be subsidising places for those that can commit to volunteering their time over next season to support the running of junior coaching sessions. Juniors (under 16) will be required to pay £20 to attend and adults £40. Both fees exclude the safeguarding course.

If you are willing to volunteer for the men’s and ladies sections, they are offering to fully fund a place in return 10 voluntary hours next season.

We welcome coaches from other clubs – the fee to attend is £75 per person. Please contact us should you like to book onto the course.
