In what is becoming something of a habit, L5 went a goal down against Nuneaton, but still came back to register a 3rd successive win; and move to 6th place in the league.
Having gone a goal down, goalkeeper Sam kept L5 in contention with some fine saves, and Letty started the comeback with a good finish for her first goal for L5 after a cross from Megan.
After HT, L5 pushed hard and got what they deserved when Megan was quickest to react after a bit of short-corner pinball, flicking the ball across the keeper.
The lead was soon extended, following a flowing move down the left that began with Caitlin and ended with Hannah controlling Trixie’s reverse stick cross and keeping a cool head to slip the ball under the Nuneaton keeper.
After Tilly had a good shot saved from another well worked short corner routine, the loose ball was pounced upon and dispatched by Nuala to make it 4-1.
Nuneaton pulled one back to make it a nervous finish but the defence stood firm, marshalled by Sarah and Nicky and with an excellent performance by Girl of the Game Mia, putting in some crunching tackles and marauding forward at every opportunity.
